This was the highlight of our Puerto Escondido trip! The hidden mangrove channels were like something out of a movie. The kayaks were comfortable and easy to handle. Our guide showed us a blue heron nesting area that was incredible. Worth every peso!

Beautiful tour through the mangroves. The sunset was spectacular and the guide was very friendly. Only reason for 4 stars is we didn't see as many birds as expected, but the scenery more than made up for it. The kayaks were great quality.

Do I need kayaking experience?
No experience is needed! Our kayaks are stable and easy to handle, and our guides provide a thorough briefing before departure. The calm lagoon waters are perfect for beginners.
What time does the tour depart?
We offer two daily departures: 6:00 AM (sunrise tour) and 3:00 PM (sunset tour). Both offer unique experiences — sunrise is best for bird watching, sunset for golden light photography.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes! We offer free pick-up and drop-off from your hotel or accommodation anywhere in Puerto Escondido.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, light, quick-drying clothing. Water shoes or sandals with straps are recommended — avoid flip-flops as they can come off in the water.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Yes, children aged 6 and above are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult and will share a kayak with a parent or guardian.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain usually doesn't affect the tour and can make the experience even more atmospheric. In case of heavy rain or storms, we'll reschedule your tour free of charge.
How many people per kayak?
We have both single and tandem (double) kayaks available. You can choose your preference when booking.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes, life jackets are mandatory and provided for all participants. Safety is our top priority.
Can I bring my camera?
Absolutely! We recommend bringing a waterproof camera or a waterproof phone case. The mangroves offer incredible photo opportunities, especially during sunset.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
The Manialtepec Lagoon is home to herons, kingfishers, eagles, pelicans, iguanas, and many more species. Bird sightings vary by season and time of day.
How long is the kayaking portion?
The actual kayaking lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. The full tour including transportation is about 3 hours.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes, we offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour. After that, a 50% fee applies.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes! Private kayaking tours can be arranged for a more personalized experience. Contact us via WhatsApp for pricing and availability.
What if I can't swim?
Swimming ability is not required. The water in the lagoon is calm and shallow in most areas, and life jackets are mandatory for all participants.
Is food or water provided?
Water is not included but we recommend bringing your own bottle. There are no food stops during the tour, so eat a light meal beforehand.
